I read an article and wanted to share what I learned with my readers. I am super excited lately because I see my stats booming on here and it’s really exciting to see more and more people checking out my blog. I decided that I should start writing about the main things I like to read about as well. I wanted to share the 10 morning habits that successful women implement daily. Just so you know, every single one of these habits can be implemented by men too 🙂
1. Wake up early
CHECK. Okay, so I am working on it. I usually get up about an hour before I leave for work but I’m now waking up an hour and a half earlier to get some things done. That includes: cleaning my room, mapping out blog content, reading, etc.
2. Be mindful
Meditating is something I have actively been trying to get into. Unfortunately, I’ve put it into practice maybe twice this year. It’s really hard for me to quiet my mind lately but I am definitely going to continue working on it.
3. Make the bed
4. Visualize your perfect day
“When we can “see” ourselves in our mind’s eye as our own best versions, it’s much easier for our actions to follow suit.” — I have not tried this…yet! I am going to try this tomorrow as I get ready for work and report back!
5. Conquer the most important item on your to-do list
I NEVER do this. I really do think this habit will make your day much, much easier. I sometimes put things off until the end of the day and I know that’s a terrible idea — time to be proactive!
6. Eat an energy packed breakfast
CHECK. I usually stick to coffee/hot tea and hard boiled eggs for breakfast and that holds me over until my mid-morning snack.
7. Workout – before any excuses get in the way
Sad face. That’s my response…for now. 😦
8. Connect with someone you love
Does my dog count? If so, then CHECK! Lately I’ve been in odd moods so in the morning my mom opens my door and let’s my little girl in for morning cuddles. Works like a dream, not to mention she’s my favorite non-human on the planet.
9. Be a super scheduler
My cousins just taught me about their “family fun calendar” and their personal home budget (bills, groceries, fun, etc.). Needless to say, it’s a genius approach. They both schedule in alone time with each other, as well as dinner dates with friends or relatives, etc. They also have a family budget where they take hold of their finances and stay on track. This year I really wanted to start saving money and making time for the people I love all while remaining relaxed and stress-free. I’m happy to announce that I now have a budget app and I’ve started my own schedule where I have planned a date with one of my girls and an afternoon with my cousins.
10. Nail your “get-ready-quick” routine
I think that every #GIRLBOSS should have one of these. I usually stick to the same thing every time. I can literally do a liquid liner cat eye in the car so doing it at home is a treat. My get ready quick routine during the winter is:
- Wash face/brush teeth
- Cat eye
- Lip balm
- ZARA black stretchy pants, booties and an oversized sweater
- Hair in a side pony
- …and a smile!
Takes me 15 minutes max!
What are some of your go-to morning habits? XO
