SLIM AARONS SUNSHINE.

SLIM AARONS SUNSHINE.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HELLO 2017! I hope you all had an amazing NYE. I spent New Years Eve with family and it was perfect…not to mention, I found myself going to bed as the sun came up (very unlike me). While thinking of what I wanted to share at the start of the new year, I decided that I’d start with something a little out of my element: photography. Photography has become one of my favorite hobbies as of late. I’m not a pro by any means, but I secretly love that my friends always ask me to take a good photo of them. I have found that being behind the lens is really comfortable and rewarding for me. Anyone need a photographer? LOL.

Okay, but in all sincerity, photos last a lifetime. My cousin just sent me some old photos of family members and I realized how important a good photo can be – pictures truly transcend time. And yes, social media is awesome and all…but how often do you get your pictures printed anymore? I follow many fashion bloggers on Instagram and I’ve noticed that I end up following their photographers as well. Many photographers on Instagram are so beyond talented. While we’re on the topic of social media and photography…I found myself scrolling through Jonathan Adler’s Instagram feed the other day and came across the iconic Slim Aarons “Beverly Hills Hotel” print. I absolutely love Slim Aarons’ prints, so chic.

I wanted to share some Slim Aarons prints that truly inspire me. Now, all I need to do is time travel back to the 1960’s, touch down in Greece (or perhaps Antigua) and create my own rendition! 🙂

Check out eight of my favorites below. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Keep it 1000.

Keep it 1000.

I am super excited to announce (LOL, what an announcement) that I finally have 1,000 followers on my blog’s Instagram. I know it may not seem like a lot to many of you, but I am currently starting my third month of blogging and it has been very exciting for me to see what photos/posts/hashtags do better than others. To date, I have noticed that the key to a successful post–both on the blog and on social media–is picture quality.

On a personal note though, I feel most successful when I write a really good post. That ability to write clearly and concisely trumps any photo for me. To write, I need peace–a clear mind–a purpose. I need to feel like what I am writing about is also something I’d like to read about. I really want to prioritize and put effort into writing more. At the end of the day, writing is so therapeutic for me. It really makes me feel good knowing that I am able to put my somewhat-well-rounded vernacular to good use!

So cheers to ultragoldenlove.com. Cheers to me writing some more. And cheers to my 1,000 followers!

Check out one of my most liked photos on my Instagram below. I used natural lighting from the skylight in my house to photograph these amazing roses and peonies from J’Adore Les Fleurs.
